Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund

Dear IWA Community,

After a week of shock, sadness, grief, and loss, the IWA community returned to 609 Crawford Street to begin the hard work of restoring our lives to order. While we are extremely grateful to report that the IWA campus sustained only minor damage, we know that not everyone was so fortunate.  Our hearts are breaking for the faculty, staff, and student families who sustained damage to their homes.

And yet we know it is time to look forward to brighter days.  As a community we are asking, “How do we move forward? Where do we begin?"   There is no easy answer, but we trust that God will make a way where there seems to be no way, that He walks with us through every storm. We move forward together.  We help one another.

With the health and well-being of our community in mind, we sent out a survey to our IWA families to determine their greatest needs in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.  We have been met with a resounding response.  As a result, we want to respond in the following ways: tuition assistance, uniform replacements, and help with transportation.  The buses started rolling from Kingwood this morning.   We have created the Incarnate Word Academy Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund to meet these needs and other needs not yet identified.

We ask that you prayerfully consider donating to the IWA fund to provide aid to IWA families.  You can make donations online here or mail a check to:

While this time is unimaginably difficult and has affected everyone in Houston, please be assured that the Sisters continue to pray for relief from any level of fear, frustration or loss you may be experiencing in these days. May you know that Jesus, the Incarnate Word, is truly walking with you each moment of the day.

Praised be the Incarnate Word, Now and Forevermore!
