The Incarnate Word Academy Handbell Choirs were established in 2012 under the direction of Mr. Paul Jurick. The program consists of three hand bell ensembles:
- The Southern Bells - Comprised of novice musicians who besides learning the various handbell ringing techniques are also engaged in learning how to read and comprehend music notation.
- The Incredibells - Comprised of young musicians who have previous music experience in vocal and/or instrumental music. These ringers grow in their knowledge of music while learning to master handbell ringing techniques.
- The Falcon Ringers - A small ensemble comprised of members from The Incredibells and perform even more challenging music and techniques.
Throughout the year all of the ensembles perform at school liturgies, concerts, and the Baccalaureate Mass. In addition, they compete at the region and state levels at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) Instrumental Music contests. Each of the handbell choirs currently hold 5A region titles in TAPPS Instrumental Music, and the two large ensembles are the current TAPPS 5A State Co-Champions. The ensembles make their music using 4½ octaves of Schulmerich Handbells and 4 octaves of Schulmerich Melody Chimes.
