Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to a new year at Incarnate Word Academy! My name is Mary Ann Cromwell, and I have the pleasure of being your Mother’s Club President for the 2018-2019 academic year. This will be my fifth year being a parent here at the school. My oldest daughter, Clare, graduated from IWA in May, and my younger daughter, Laura, will be a junior this year.
The purpose of the Mother’s Club is to support the programs and activities here at IWA. This is done by coordinating parental support through volunteer activities, social functions, and fundraisers. There are approximately 20 events throughout the year that we help with or provide volunteer support for. We primarily raise funds through our spirit shop sales and those proceeds are used to help host our many events.
All parents and guardians of students are automatically members of the Mother’s Club (including the Dads!). I encourage all of you to get involved with our activities. Volunteering is a great way to meet other parents, make friends, and get to know the faculty and staff. We have many different volunteer opportunities available throughout the school year so everyone can be involved.
Please feel free to visit the Mother’s Club section of the school website for more information about our activities. From there you can see our events for the school year as well as a chance to volunteer for these events via SignUp Genius.
I’d like to invite you all to our first event, the Welcome Back to School Coffee, on Friday, August 17th beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the conference center. The members of the Mother’s Club will be there to answer any questions you may have and the Spirit Shop will be open that morning so you can get ready for the school year by purchasing IWA spirit gear. I hope to see you all there!
Mary Ann Cromwell
