Dear Parents and Guardians,
On behalf of the Mothers Club Board, I would like to extend a special welcome to the class of 2020 and all families returning to IWA this year! With the new construction this year, we are not only building a stronger foundation for our physical space, but we are building on the foundation set forth by the hard-working volunteers and staff members who have come before us. IWA has a rich history and for 143 years, IWA has been forming our daughters into the confident young leaders of tomorrow.
I am Paula Amsler, Mother’s Club President for the 2016-2017 school year. I am honored and humbled to serve in this capacity and look forward to getting to know you throughout this upcoming school year. My daughter, Mary, graduated in the class of 2016 and my daughter, Elise, is a sophomore. I have seen such positive changes in the Mothers Club this past four years and I hope to build on its successes.
The role of the IWA Mother’s Club is to support Incarnate Word Academy’s administration by hosting most of the school’s special events and to encourage a strong parent community. As a parent of a student at IWA, you are automatically part of the IWA Mothers Club and I encourage you to explore the different opportunities to become involved in our IWA family. We have something for everyone and we cannot do what we do without you. I invite you to explore the IWA website and calendar of events and familiarize yourself with our mission, our events and how you can contribute to our goal of building a dynamic parent community.
We will be hosting a Welcome Parent Coffee on August 16th at 8:00 a.m. and I look forward to meeting you then and at the many events throughout the year. We are many, coming together for a common goal: to support our daughters as they grow into beautiful Women of the Word. As we continue to build our school, brick by brick, my prayer is that our Mothers Club will be a “Corner Stone” to support our teachers, staff, community and especially our daughters.
2016-2017 IWA Mothers Club President
