Incarnate Word Academy, a Catholic college-preparatory high school for young women, is uniquely situated in thriving and diverse downtown Houston surrounded by Minute Maid Park, Discovery Green, the George R. The oldest Catholic high school in Houston, Incarnate Word Academy is owned and operated by the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament and is celebrating 145 years since its inception in 1873. Today, the student body represents fifty-six Catholic parishes and 101 zip codes across the metropolitan area, yet remains a friendly, intimate community of 350 young women.

2018-2019 Faculty Openings
A bachelor’s degree in the content area is required, with a master’s degree preferred. Teachers are required to have earned, or make plans to earn, 12 credit hours in education courses or hold an appropriate state certificate. In addition to classroom duties, faculty members are expected to participate in professional development and excitedly contribute to the school community by taking on responsibilities beyond classroom duties. Teachers are also expected to support the Catholic identity and leadership focus of the school.
