Incarnate Word Academy provides young women with a college preparatory education that engages and challenges them to succeed in all endeavors.
With an average class size of 16 and an 11:1 student to teacher ratio, IWA is committed to personal attention and helping each student thrive. IWA’s college preparatory curriculum meets the TEA’s recommended program, but extends to allow students to expand upon their strengths and interests with diverse academic electives such as Contemporary US Women’s History, Leading with Service and Leading with Personal Finance.
The IWA Young Leaders Program is an innovative 4-year character and leadership development program that provides each student the unique opportunity to develop in-demand leadership skills built upon a foundation of strong personal character. IWA is one of the only high schools in the country to combine collegiate level curriculum and experiential opportunities in order to ensure that our graduates are prepared to take on leadership roles in college and life. The leadership curriculum is packaged as the Young Leaders Concentration - a series of 4 courses available to those students who desire an in-depth exposure to the leadership discipline. These courses leverage nationally recognized materials from institution such as Santa Clara University and IWA’s partnership with The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Graduating from IWA with a concentration in Leadership makes our students stand out and prepared to significantly impact their communities.
Our mission is to foster student growth in the values of the Gospel. Students are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Christ, the Incarnate Word, and are given opportunities to grow in their faith through religious studies, retreats, participation in the Liturgy, service projects and prayer services.
